Happy New Year (Yes, I Know It's Late)
As I Was Saying...
Wow, it's been a while! This is my first blog post of the year, so I guess a Happy New Year is in order. How have you been?
I've been up to my neck in book creation, working on multiple projects to stock my bookshop. It's been a busy season, but thankfully, my books have started going into print, and I can finally breathe a little!
For those who don’t know me, hi! My name is Peace Olaluwoye, also known as Amaze, and I’m the creative director behind Sunday Sunday Books.
By God's grace, I’ve created my first-ever 365-day devotional for children and also printed my comprehensive Bible Quiz Book for Christian families, mostly targeted at teenagers and younger children.
The Pricing Struggle
One of my biggest challenges has been pricing. Many books in the market are imported and unbelievably cheap, but when you check online for the real cost of those books, and see how very expensive they are, you begin to understand that there must be another reason why the books are so cheap here.
I can think of a few; maybe the books were donations from an overloaded bookstore seeking to decongest its shelves, or they're contributions from a charity effort. They could be unwanted books from a yard sale or something like that, and the prices of those books are of course much lower than their actual market cost.
Sunday Sunday Books' products, however, are printed right here in Nigeria, and production costs are low compared to other countries. But to us Nigerians, they are quite high, and that means our prices must reflect these realities if we want to keep doing this good work.
I truly appreciate my customers' understanding and support in this regard.
How Much Do the Books Cost?
Quarterly Edition of the Devotional – ₦2,500 each
Comprehensive Bible Quiz Book – ₦5,000 each
I promise you, these books are worth every naira. They are high quality and packed with value, so you’re not just spending money—you’re investing in great Christian resources for your family.
I’ll continue sharing my journey as an upcoming publisher in Nigeria, especially in the low-content children’s activity book space—think puzzles, journals, and more.
Until next time, keep enjoying Sunday Sunday Books products!❤️
